New 'Urban Growth Zone' for the Growth Areas
A new 'Urban Growth Zone' has been introduced to bring forward enough land for 90,000 new residential blocks.
All broadacre areas inside the Urban Growth Boundary in the five growth areas will be rezoned to the new 'Urban Growth Zone' to speed up the master planning of 37 new communities.
The Premier said the new zone is the first instalment on measures to tackle housing affordability and reforms to the planning process by mid-2008.
